“The biggest change for me as a mom was realizing I needed to put someone else before me. Now the hardest part about the empty nest is learning to put myself first.” – Kim Alexis

Life transitions can be difficult.  Some life transitions are expected, but that doesn’t mean that they are necessarily any easier.  There are times in your life that are just really big adjustments.  Becoming a mom for the first time is a huge change in your life.  That moment when all of your kids move out of your house is another huge change.  Having someone to give you some support during these major life changes gives you a giant advantage in making the adjustment to your new life.

Do you resist support?  Do you find it hard to ask for help when things are changing and you can’t quite figure out how you now fit in to your current life?  You’re not alone if you resist asking for help.  It’s pretty common, but it doesn’t have to be you anymore.

I know in the past, I’ve resisted support.  As a mom, I was the one who took care of everyone else.  I either felt that I didn’t need the support or I was too stubborn to ask for it.  That resistance meant that I was often doing things the hard way.  I was reinventing the wheel when I didn’t need to do so.  Does that sound familiar?

Nowadays, I can see the advantages of asking for support.  I can let someone else who has gone through something similar guide me on my path.  It makes my life so much easier when I accept help and I’m so glad that I’ve shifted my thinking about getting support!

As I went through my initial empty nest transition, I didn’t have the support and guidance that I needed.  I did find it later though.  That guidance has meant so much to me.  It helped me to make decisions and plan what I wanted for my life when I no longer needed to be a full-time mom.

So, now, I’m sharing some of the tools that have helped me to make this adjustment be more smooth so that you can make your transition with more ease.

Going from a full-time mom to not having to take care of your kids all of the time is a difficult adjustment.  There’s guilt for doing things for yourself again.  There’s confusion about what you want to do.  There’s the sadness that you feel because of a change in traditions as well as your role.  There’s also excitement that you have more time to do the things that you want to do.

It’s very confusing to have all of these feelings at once & challenging to navigate this journey.  My goal is to help smooth out this journey for you so that you can find your focus and purpose again.

I think that you have so much more to offer to your family, your community and the world.  Just because one part of your life is ending doesn’t mean that there isn’t something else out there for you.  You just need to uncover what that is for you.

I’m on a mission to help moms like you navigate this transition with ease because I believe together we can bring more joy, more ease and a purpose to your life again.
